Angular momentum $\displaystyle M{{{\vec{r}}}_{CM}}\times {{{\vec{v}}}_{CM}}+{{I}_{CM}}\overrightarrow{\omega }$ and kinetic energy $\displaystyle \frac{1}{2}Mv_{CM}^{2}+\frac{1}{2}{{I}_{CM}}{{\omega }^{2}}$ results are valid for all types of rolling motions. However, vCM=Rω is valid only for pure rolling motion but not for any other rolling motion. Pure rolling motion can be visualised as instantaneous rotational motion about the point of contact in which case kinetic energy can also be given by $\displaystyle \frac{1}{2}{{I}_{\text{Point of Contact}}}{{\omega }^{2}}$.
